Italian proletarians and immigrants: let us unite to fight back the attack of bosses and Draghi government!
Proletarians around the world: let us unite to end it all, fighting an increasingly chaotic, ferocious and unsustainable capitalism!
On this first of May, a theme dominates everything: capitalism is getting more and more chaotic, ferocious, unsustainable. It is not us, its irreducible enemies, who claim this: hard facts clearly lay it out. Capitalism has staged a horrific show all across the world plunging us into a pandemic crisis that has already taken three million lives and will likely mark the start of an era of pandemics. Behind Covid-19 is an ecological catastrophe that is rapidly worsening under the pressure of the capitalist exploitation of natural habitats. The pandemic and ecological disaster has triggered the outbreak of a global economic crisis that, both in the Global South and in Europe and the USA, has already pushed hundreds of millions of people into unemployment and poverty.
In this context of health and economic chaos, the competition among powers has intensified both at world level, between the United States, China and the EU, and at regional level. War expenses, indeed the most harmful expenses, are skyrocketing. The stinging stench of upcoming wars can clearly be smelled and the war on emigrants, refugees and asylum seekers has not even temporarily stopped.
Meanwhile, we can see nothing but police forces patrolling the streets, ready to draw their batons: repression against the struggles of workers, exploited people and social movements are getting more and more brutal. Italy and its democratic “beautiful Constitution” have recently seen police officers backed up by vigilantes and dealers assaulting Si-Cobas pickets at Fedex in order to intimate them, which they failed to do. At Arcelor-Mittal and many other companies, even the slightest criticism leads to disciplinary dismissals, while the “right to strike” has been increasingly narrowed by administrative means in the public sector, as with 8 of March strikes of school workers. All in all the bosses are aiming at getting rid of proletarian independent organizations together with Cgil, Cisl and Uil tame unions, hindering workers from joining in classist unions threating to dismiss them.
This is the self-portrait of today’s global capitalism. This social system can still improve life conditions in Asia or Africa, but is irreversibly declining in its born place, where its headquarters are still located. This will drag into chaos and confrontation even the countries that are still on the rise. Capitalist elites, and especially Western ones, are not going to resign voluntarily: they are not going to realize that they are totally unable to make humanity advance.
On the contrary, both from the United States and from Europe comes the ringing promise (the same as in 2009): it was just a bad, unpredictable accident. Don’t worry, we’ll go back to growing! Indeed, we have already returned to growing at a record pace, they rejoice in the United States. The “miraculous” vaccines and the equally “miraculous” deficit spending drag the Wall Street indexes into the sky. Still enjoying (not for long) the advantage of printing money at will, Biden’s United States even announced a plan of interventions “in favor of workers”: higher taxes on companies and on the 1% of the richest, monetary support of mass to the families of the poor and middle classes. Biden himself, however, admitted that it is a poison bait. The meaning of his message is: we are forced to enter into a competition for life and death with China, and we cannot hope to win without restoring some calm to a country so polarized, so dramatically divided along lines of class, racial and gender, what post-Trump America is. Deficit spending is only a means, the goal is victory in the power struggle with China (and putting it back under the protection of the EU). Anyone who thinks that this prospect will not lead to new war conflicts and a chain of disasters are very mistaken. The spiral of infinite growth that Yankee capitalism claims to embody at the highest level is none other than the spiral of increasing destructiveness, of the growing chaos of the capitalist mode of production, which twists in its contradictions becoming more and more necro-capitalism.
In turn, the EU, by overturning its previous rules, has launched a major investment plan, the Recovery Fund, which exponentially increases the debt of all states and creates a common European debt for the first time. Unlike Washington, however, Brussels cannot promise its workers much even immediately. Indeed, it must continue to squeeze wages and rights because otherwise it cannot compete with the two giants, the US and China. And here is that the Draghi plan, finally made known (in part), gives us a precise idea of the interests on which the “recovery” is structured: 90 billion euros out of 100 will go, straight or sideways, to businesses, to capital, 10 to the working class. The rise in unemployment, which is already a fact, will explode after 30 June. The fundamental objective of the plan is to increase the productivity of individual companies and the Italian system as much as possible, so that Italy can successfully defend its place in the sun, plundering work and nature almost everywhere, from Libya to Lebanon, from Argentina to Mali to Bangladesh. Nothing clear is said, for now, about who will have to pay the huge debt launched in the last year, a debt that accumulates with the previous one, very huge – but around the corner other pension counter-reforms are already lurking, increases direct and indirect taxes on workers, years and years of hard sacrifices to enrich the creditors of the state (bankers, bosses of all sizes, high ranks of the state bureaucracy, the army, the professions).
he post-pandemic capitalist world therefore promises to be more polarized, dangerous for the health of the working class and for the life of the population, full of factors of new crises and wars, than that which existed before the pandemic. In all countries, the mass of the proletariat is not yet aware of it, but it experiences day after day on its own skin that its future and that of the new generations is fraught with unknowns, and today’s fatigue and pain do not prepare better times. For many and many, the dream of being able to preserve their jobs and their conditions of existence by fully adhering to the interests of companies, making themselves available without reserve to the bosses and state directives, is destined to turn into a nightmare. It will be women, especially wage women, and immigrants in particular, who will experience the worst in terms of labor exploitation and discrimination. But a much larger sector of the working class, even in the richest countries, will experience an unexpected deterioration. And in Latin America, Africa and many Asian countries, the worsening will have catastrophic features, heralded by the uncontrolled spread of the pandemic in India and Brazil.
The most combative and organized part of the proletariat is called to become aware of the increasingly destructive character of capitalism, and to draw today a firm line of class resistance to prepare for the counter-offensive of tomorrow. If in the West the old workers’ movement has collapsed on itself, and if the historic trade unions have institutionalized themselves and placed themselves at the service of corporate and national interests (as happened in Italy with the CGIL, CISL, UIL); however, the first signs of the awakening of the newly formed working class can be seen in the strikes that took place in the “avant-garde” companies, Google, Amazon, RyanAir and, here in Italy, in the strategic logistics sector. The uberization of work, this new form of wage slavery under the deceptive appearance of self-employment and the neutral command of algorithms, is increasingly being accused by those who have ended up in their network for lack of alternatives.
After all, for at least a decade the immense mass of proletarians around the world has been trying to deal with the tasks of the new historical phase opened by the great crisis of 2008. The first to do so were the exploited and oppressed of the Arab world in the Intifada. regional of the years 2011-2012, diverted from within by Islamist forces and crushed in blood by Arab satraps protected by the US, EU and Russia, but able to re-emerge in the massive protests of 2018-2019 in Algeria, Sudan, Lebanon – exploded at the same time as those in South America (in Chile, Colombia, etc.). The third act of this awakening took place last year in the most central of the countries of the center, in the most imperialist of the imperialist countries, the USA, with the birth of an impetuous movement composed of young blacks (in the front row), whites, Latin- Americans, Asians – the whole world of the international proletariat concentrated in one country. That same multiracial and multinational proletariat that also here in Italy, for ten years, has been ringing the alarm for indigenous workers, and those with blood in their veins, with strikes by drivers and logistics porters. No less significant, although at the moment in ebb, was the return to the field, with more radical and classist pushes than in the past, of the world women’s movement that started from the two Americas, and the teeming here and there in the world of the ecological youth protest, even if still burdened by illusions towards the established powers.
We comrades of the Revolutionary Internationalist Tendency feel part of this international process that sees the proletariat and the oppressed classes appear in an irregular and jerky way, as in the case of the great movement of poor peasants in India. And, although our main area of intervention is currently in Italy, we feel obliged to multiply our commitment to weave networks of knowledge and cooperation with all the forces that are really in the field, consequently, against capital, and they have in their program the revolutionary exit from the historical crisis of capitalism and the establishment of Soviet power in the world.
Here we fully reclaim the action taken in the last two years to bring together and connect together, together with SI Cobas, female workers and combative workers by uniting them on a platform of struggle that reflects the needs of the proletariat in all its components and aspirations. We know that it is still a very embryonic and limited process, at risk of recoil. But – while we are fixing, step by step, our strategic and tactical structure taking advantage of the enormous experience accumulated by the communist movement – we reaffirm on this May 1st our being internal, whatever the cost, to the pioneering efforts that of thousands of immigrant proletarians are doing for the whole class. Their courage, their determination, their collective feeling of belonging to the working class, and the strength with which they are rejecting the attempt of the logistics multinationals, FedEx in the lead, to throw them back into a semi-slave system like the one from which they were set free with their battles, they are an example that the Draghi government is trying in every way to suffocate. And that instead must be collected and generalized in a perspective of struggle that cannot be simply economic, but has already become a political struggle, and will become even more so by taking on the task of blocking the way to the “Draghi era”. The most combative part of the working class must succeed, and will succeed, in speaking to the whole class, to all / and the oppressed / and, to think big, without being diverted or held back by localisms, economisms, short-sighted refusals. of the theoretical dimension of the anti-capitalist battle.
The future does not belong to capitalism, racism, sexism, militarism. It does not belong to the Dragons, the Bidens, the Macrons, the Putins, the Xi Jin Ping. The future belongs to the international social revolution of the proletariat and the oppressed!

IN QUESTO PRIMO MAGGIO…
Proletari italiani e immigrati, uniamoci per respingere l’attacco dei padroni e del governo Draghi!
Proletari di tutto il mondo, uniamoci per farla finita con un capitalismo sempre più caotico, feroce e insostenibile!
In questo 1° maggio un tema domina su tutti: il capitalismo è sempre più caotico, feroce e insostenibile. Non siamo noi, suoi irriducibili nemici, a dirlo, ma i fatti, e che fatti! È il capitalismo stesso, con lo “spettacolo” che ha messo in scena nel mondo intero, precipitandoci in una pandemia globale che ha già falciato tre milioni di vite e segnerà probabilmente l’avvio di un’era di pandemie. Dietro e sotto il covid-19 c’è una catastrofe ecologica che accelera sotto la spinta del saccheggio capitalistico della natura. A loro volta la pandemia e il disastro ecologico hanno innescato lo scoppio di una crisi economica globale, che ha già fatto centinaia di milioni di nuovi poveri e di disoccupati, non solo nei paesi dominati del Sud del mondo, ma anche in Europa e negli Stati Uniti.
Nel caos sanitario ed economico che ne è derivato, si sono acuite le spinte alla concorrenza internazionale tra Stati Uniti, Cina e UE, e quelle a livello regionale, mentre le spese belliche – tra le spese più dannose per l’umanità – stanno schizzando alle stelle. C’è il rumore e il tanfo di nuove guerre nell’aria, mentre la guerra agli emigranti, ai rifugiati e ai richiedenti asilo non si è fermata neppure un attimo.
In tutto ciò, nelle piazze di tutto il mondo non si vede altro che polizia, manganelli e repressione sempre più brutale contro le lotte degli operai, degli sfruttati, dei movimenti sociali. Così anche nell’Italia della “bellissima Costituzione” democratica polizia e squadre di mazzieri e vigilantes aggrediscono i picchetti operai del Si Cobas contro Fedex nel tentativo, respinto e fallito, di intimidire i dimostranti; all’Arcelor-Mittal, come in tanti altri posti di lavoro, i licenziamenti “disciplinari” colpiscono i lavoratori che osano sollevare critiche, anche minime, all’operato aziendale; nel pubblico impiego si inaspriscono per via amministrativa i limiti sempre più angusti al “diritto” di sciopero, com’è avvenuto in occasione dell’8 marzo nel settore scolastico. Mentre l’offensiva padronale, in un gioco di sponda con i sindacati collaborazionisti CGIL-CISL-UIL, punta a liquidare l’organizzazione indipendente dei proletari, ostacolando, con il ricatto del licenziamento, l’adesione dei lavoratori al sindacalismo di classe.
È questo l’autoritratto del capitalismo globale di oggi: un sistema sociale che ancora è capace di promettere miglioramenti della vita in Asia o Africa, ma irreversibilmente declina là dove è nato e dove rimane il suo centro di comando. E che trascinerà nel caos e nello scontro anche i paesi che ancora stanno ascendendo velocemente. Perché dalle élite del potere capitalistico, anzitutto quelle occidentali, possiamo aspettarci di tutto fuorché le dimissioni volontarie, fuorché accettino di non essere in grado di far progredire l’umanità.
Al contrario, tanto dagli Stati Uniti quanto dall’Europa arriva la squillante promessa (la stessa del 2009): è stato solo un brutto, imprevedibile incidente. Tranquilli, torneremo a crescere! Anzi, siamo già tornati a crescere a ritmi da record, esultano negli Stati Uniti. I “miracolosi” vaccini e l’altrettanto “miracolosa” spesa in deficit trascinano in cielo gli indici di Wall Street. Godendo ancora (non per molto) del vantaggio di stampare moneta a piacimento, gli Stati Uniti di Biden hanno annunciato addirittura un piano di interventi “a favore dei lavoratori”: maggiori tasse sulle imprese e sull’1% dei più ricchi, sostegno monetario di massa alle famiglie dei meno abbienti e dei ceti medi. Lo stesso Biden, però, ha ammesso che si tratta di un’esca al veleno. Il senso del suo messaggio è: siamo costretti ad entrare in una competizione per la vita e per la morte con la Cina, e non possiamo sperare di vincere senza riportare un po’ di calma in un paese così polarizzato, così drammaticamente diviso lungo linee di classe, razziali e di genere, qual è l’America post-trumpiana. La spesa in deficit è solo un mezzo, il fine è la vittoria nello scontro di potenza con la Cina (e la rimessa sotto tutela dell’UE). Chi pensa che questa prospettiva non sfocerà in nuovi conflitti bellici e in una catena di disastri si sbaglia di grosso. La spirale della crescita infinita che il capitalismo yankee pretende di incarnare al massimo livello non è altro che la spirale della crescente distruttività, del crescente caos del modo di produzione capitalistico, che si avvita nelle sue contraddizioni diventando sempre più necro-capitalismo.
A sua volta l’UE stravolgendo le proprie regole precedenti, ha varato un grande piano di investimenti, il Recovery Fund, che aumenta esponenzialmente il debito di tutti gli stati e crea per la prima volta un debito europeo comune. A differenza di Washington, però, Bruxelles non può promettere gran che ai propri lavoratori neppure sul piano immediato. Deve anzi proseguire nella compressione dei salari e dei diritti perché altrimenti non riesce a competere con i due giganti, Usa e Cina. Ed ecco che il piano-Draghi, finalmente reso noto (in parte), ci dà un’idea precisa degli interessi su cui è strutturata la “ripresa”: 90 miliardi di euro su 100 andranno, per vie diritte o traverse, alle imprese, al capitale, 10 alla classe lavoratrice. L’aumento della disoccupazione, che è già un dato di fatto, esploderà dopo il 30 giugno. L’obiettivo fondamentale del piano è incrementare il più possibile la produttività delle singole aziende e del sistema Italia, così che l’Italia possa difendere con successo il suo posto al sole, saccheggiando il lavoro e la natura un po’ dovunque, dalla Libia al Libano, dall’Argentina al Mali al Bangladesh. Nulla di chiaro si dice, per ora, su chi dovrà pagare l’enorme debito varato in quest’ultimo anno, un debito che si cumula a quello precedente, ingentissimo – ma dietro l’angolo sono già in agguato altre controriforme delle pensioni, aumenti delle tasse dirette e indirette sui lavoratori, anni e anni di duri sacrifici per arricchire i creditori dello stato (banchieri, padroni di tutte le taglie, alti gradi della burocrazia di stato, dell’esercito, delle professioni).
Il mondo capitalistico post-pandemia si annuncia perciò più polarizzato, pericoloso per la salute della classe lavoratrice e per la vita della popolazione, denso di fattori di nuove crisi e di scontri bellici, di quello che esisteva prima della pandemia. In tutti i paesi, la massa del proletariato ancora non ne è consapevole, ma sperimenta giorno dopo giorno sulla propria pelle che il suo futuro e quello delle nuove generazioni è gravido di incognite, e la fatica e i dolori di oggi non preparano tempi migliori. Per tanti e tante il sogno di poter preservare il proprio lavoro e le proprie condizioni di esistenza aderendo in modo totale agli interessi delle imprese, mettendosi a disposizione senza riserve dei padroni e delle direttive statali, è destinato a trasformarsi in un incubo. Saranno soprattutto le donne, in specie le donne salariate, e gli immigrati, a sperimentare il peggio in materia di sfruttamento del lavoro e discriminazioni. Ma un settore molto più ampio della classe lavoratrice, anche nei paesi più ricchi, andrà incontro ad un peggioramento inatteso. E in America Latina, Africa e molti paesi dell’Asia il peggioramento avrà tratti catastrofici, preannunciati dal dilagare incontrollato della pandemia in India e Brasile.
La parte più combattiva e organizzata del proletariato è chiamata a prender coscienza del carattere crescentemente distruttivo del capitalismo, e a tracciare oggi una linea ferma di resistenza di classe per preparare la controffensiva di domani. Se in Occidente il vecchio movimento operaio è crollato su sé stesso, e se gli storici sindacati si sono istituzionalizzati e posti al servizio degli interessi aziendali e nazionali (com’è accaduto in Italia con Cgil, Cisl, Uil); si possono però cogliere i primi segni di risveglio della classe lavoratrice di nuova formazione negli scioperi avvenuti nelle aziende “di avanguardia”, Google, Amazon, RyanAir e, qui in Italia, nel settore strategico della logistica. L’uberizzazione del lavoro, questa nuova forma di schiavitù salariata sotto l’ingannevole apparenza del lavoro autonomo e del neutrale comando degli algoritmi, è sempre più messa sotto accusa da chi è finito, per mancanza di alternative, nella sua rete.
Del resto da almeno un decennio la sterminata massa dei proletari di tutto il mondo sta provando a misurarsi con i compiti della nuova fase storica aperta dalla grande crisi del 2008. I primi a farlo sono stati gli sfruttati e gli oppressi del mondo arabo nell’Intifada regionale degli anni 2011-2012, deviata dall’interno dalle forze islamiste e schiacciata nel sangue dai satrapi arabi protetti da Usa, UE e Russia, ma capace di riemergere nelle massicce proteste del 2018-2019 in Algeria, in Sudan, nel Libano – esplose contemporaneamente a quelle in Sud America (in Cile, in Colombia, etc.). Il terzo atto di questo risveglio è avvenuto lo scorso anno nel più centrale dei paesi del centro, nel più imperialista dei paesi imperialisti, gli Usa, con la nascita di un impetuoso movimento composto da giovani neri (in prima fila), bianchi, latino-americani, asiatici – l’intero mondo del proletariato internazionale concentrato in un solo paese. Quello stesso proletariato multirazziale e multinazionale che anche qui in Italia, da dieci anni, sta suonando la sveglia ai lavoratori autoctoni, e a chi ha sangue nelle vene, con gli scioperi dei driver e dei facchini della logistica. Non meno significativo, benché al momento in riflusso, è stato il ritorno in campo, con spinte più radicali e classiste di un tempo, del movimento mondiale delle donne partito dalle due Americhe, e il pullulare qua e là nel mondo della protesta giovanile ecologista, anche se ancora gravata da illusioni verso i poteri costituiti.
Noi compagne/i della Tendenza internazionalista rivoluzionaria ci sentiamo parte di questo processo internazionale che in modo irregolare e sussultorio vede affacciarsi in campo il proletariato e le classi oppresse, come nel caso del grande movimento dei contadini poveri dell’India. E, benché sia attualmente in Italia il nostro principale ambito di intervento, ci sentiamo in obbligo di moltiplicare il nostro impegno per tessere reti di conoscenza e di cooperazione con tutte le forze che sono realmente in campo, in modo conseguente, contro il capitale, e hanno nel loro programma l’uscita rivoluzionaria dalla crisi storica del capitalismo e l’instaurazione del potere sovietico nel mondo.
Qui rivendichiamo in pieno l’azione compiuta negli ultimi due anni per avvicinare e collegare tra loro, insieme con il SI Cobas, le lavoratrici e i lavoratori combattivi unendoli su una piattaforma di lotta che rifletta le necessità del proletariato in tutte le sue componenti e aspirazioni. Sappiamo che è un processo ancora molto embrionale e limitato, a rischio di rinculi. Ma – nel mentre fissiamo, passo dopo passo, il nostro impianto strategico e tattico facendo tesoro dell’enorme esperienza accumulata dal movimento comunista – ribadiamo in questo 1° maggio il nostro essere interni, costi quel che costi, agli sforzi da pionieri che alcune decine di migliaia di proletari immigrati stanno facendo per l’intera classe. Il loro coraggio, la loro determinazione, il loro sentimento collettivo di appartenenza alla classe operaia, e la forza con cui stanno respingendo il tentativo delle multinazionali della logistica, FedEx in testa, di ributtarli indietro in un sistema semi-schiavistico come quello da cui si erano liberati con le loro battaglie, sono un esempio che il governo Draghi sta cercando in ogni modo di soffocare. E che invece va difeso, raccolto e generalizzato in una prospettiva di lotta che non può essere semplicemente economica, ma è già diventata lotta politica, e ancor più lo diventerà assumendosi il compito di sbarrare il passo all’“era Draghi”. La parte più combattiva della classe operaia deve riuscire, e riuscirà, a parlare a tutta la classe, a tutti/e gli/le oppressi/e, a pensare in grande, senza farsi deviare o frenare dai localismi, da economicismi, da miopi rifiuti della dimensione anche teorica della battaglia anti-capitalista.
Il futuro non appartiene al capitalismo, al razzismo, al sessismo, al militarismo. Non appartiene ai Draghi, ai Biden, ai Macron, ai Putin, ai Xi Jin Ping. Il futuro appartiene alla rivoluzione sociale internazionale del proletariato e degli oppressi!
