Dal Sole 24 ore di ieri 20 marzo: “L’Europa ha bisogno dell’effetto Pearl Harbour, di uno shock devastante che ne scuota le democrazie, polverizzi la trincea di dubbi, egoismi ed esitazioni infinite, costringendola ad agire con il consenso delle sue opinioni pubbliche. Dietro garanzia di anonimato il nostro interlocutore, politico europeo di alto rango [cioè presumibilmente un membro della Commissione europea – n.], evoca l’attacco a sorpresa del Giappone alla base navale americana nel Pacifico, quello che nel 1941 ruppe la neutralità degli Stati Uniti, facendone dal giorno dopo i protagonisti della Seconda Guerra mondiale a fianco dell’Europa democratica contro la Germania nazista. Esagerazione? Di sicuro quello che si apre domani [oggi, 21 marzo] a Bruxelles è il secondo vertice europeo di guerra dopo quello che due anni fa si tenne a Versailles…”.
Ma questa volta i toni sono assai più perentori di quelli di due anni fa, guai a sottovalutare questo cambiamento. “Siamo di fronte alla più grande minaccia alla nostra sicurezza dalla Seconda Guerra mondiale, è tempo di fare passi concreti e radicali per essere pronti a difenderci mettendo la nostra economia in ‘modalità guerra’“, così il belga Michel, presidente del Consiglio UE. “Dobbiamo sbrigarci”, incalza perfino il posapiano Gentiloni. Basta vedere l’impennata della spesa bellica europea per comprendere cosa stanno andando le cose: 240 miliardi di euro nel 2022, 290 miliardi di euro nel 2023, 350 miliardi di euro nel 2024. Fatti, non parole. Ma le “parole”, cioè la propaganda di guerra sempre più esplicita e aggressiva, stanno sempre più facendo coerenti con i fatti. Anche se ancora l’”opinione pubblica” europea non appare pronta alla diretta entrata in guerra contro la Russia. Bisogna prepararla. E nulla sarebbe più benvenuta di una nuova Pearl Harbour. Ma poiché è assai improbabile che l’abile stratega Putin gli faccia un regalone del genere, c’è da giurarci: nei prossimi tempi ci sarà una escalation di provocazioni anti-russe per provocare un qualche passo falso da vendere all’opinione pubblica europea come la nuova Pearl Harbour…
Ed ecco che si comincia con l’incamerare gli interessi sugli asset russi congelati in Europa che verrebbero affidati ad un “Fondo Europeo per la Pace” (quando si dice la neo-lingua orwelliana), in attesa di fare il passo ulteriore: incamerare gli stessi asset. Ed ecco che si mette in cantiere per il 2025 la nascita di una forza di intervento rapido – una prima esercitazione si è già tenuta a Cadiz in Spagna con 3.000 soldati, 25 aerei e 6 navi, fuori dal quadro NATO, e la seconda si terrà a novembre in Germania. Ed ecco che alla Tv francese gli ‘esperti’ (ad es. il colonnello Arbarétier) discutono amabilmente di dove sarebbe meglio schierare in Ucraina il contingente di 2.000 soldati che già appaiono pronti a partire – il capo di stato maggiore francese Pierre Schill assicura che “l’esercito francese è pronto”, e i giornali traducono: anche con il suo contingente nucleare, ovviamente. Ricompare per l’occasione l’assatanata Truss, l’ex-premier britannico durato 39 giorni che dichiarò che fremeva dalla voglia di premere il bottone atomico per colpire la Russia, con un incitamento agli Stati Uniti di Biden: “permettete all’Ucraina di usare tutti i tipi di arma e tutti i tipi di tattica”. A ruota anche il “pensatore” sloveno Slavoj Zizek, spacciato per “freudo-marxista” (??, un punto interrogativo per ciascuna delle due attribuzioni) sbraita che “L’Occidente deve fornire all’Ucraina armi nucleari” contro “il fanatico conservatore religioso Putin”. Mentre Polonia e Germania concludono un accordo per la costituzione di una coalizione corazzata “a sostegno dell’Ucraina” con un primo contingente di 5.000 uomini, 2.500 per paese, pronti ad entrare immediatamente in azione, cioè in Ucraina. E l’elenco potrebbe continuare…
Senza dilungarci, trascriviamo qui le conclusioni di un testo che abbiamo postato su questo stesso tema due giorni fa:
“(…) abbiamo solo inteso mettere in fila gli ultimissimi sviluppi di questa guerra [la guerra tra NATO e Russia in Ucraina – n.] che ne preparano in modo inequivocabile l’allargamento verso il territorio russo, verso i paesi baltici e verso la Moldavia – in prospettiva verso l’intero territorio europeo e ben oltre di esso, non essendo possibile, quando si mettono in moto dinamiche del genere, prevedere se e dove possano arrestarsi, se non interviene in campo la forza degli sfruttati a dichiarare, con i fatti, guerra alla guerra del capitale, opponendo alla catastrofe bellica la prospettiva della rivoluzione sociale anti-capitalista. Essendo in un paese membro fondatore della NATO e dell’UE, che ha condiviso e condivide tutte le scelte di queste due strutture di brigantaggio e di morte, dobbiamo concentrare e rilanciare la nostra propaganda e la nostra azione contro il nemico “in casa nostra”: il governo Meloni, lo stato italiano, le banche e le imprese italiane, nonché le alleanze entro le quali il capitalismo made in Italy si protegge.
“Lo abbiamo fatto finora, con le nostre modeste forze, in tutte le circostanze, da ultimo nella grande manifestazione di Milano del 24 febbraio: contro le guerre del capitale, l’economia di guerra e i suoi terribili costi materiali, la propaganda di guerra, l’ulteriore disciplinamento sui luoghi di lavoro, l’invasione delle scuole e delle università da parte del nuovo “educatore” bellico, il rilancio delle ideologie sessiste, razziste, scioviniste russofobe, connaturato al clima di guerra, etc. Torneremo a farlo nelle piazze del 1° maggio continuando a tessere i fili di una rete internazionale e internazionalista che unisca in modo sempre più stretto le avanguardie proletarie di tutti i paesi del mondo contro l’intero sistema del capitalismo in putrefazione.”
Chiunque condivide questo impianto di analisi e questa prospettiva di lotta, rompa gli indugi e si unisca a noi.

From Il Sole 24 Ore [the newspaper of Italian Confindustria] of yesterday 20 March: “Europe needs the Pearl Harbour effect, a devastating shock that shakes its democracies, pulverizes the trench of doubts, selfishness and infinite hesitation, forcing it to act with the consensus of its public opinion. On condition of anonymity, our interlocutor, a high-ranking European politician [i.e. presumably a member of the European Commission – no.], evokes Japan’s surprise attack on the American naval base in the Pacific, the one that in 1941 broke the neutrality of the United States, making it the protagonist of the Second World War on the side of democratic Europe against Hitler’s Germany. Exaggeration? Certainly, what opens tomorrow [today, March 21] in Brussels is the second European war summit after the one held two years ago in Versailles…”.
But this time the tone is much more peremptory than it was two years ago, so don’t underestimate this change. “We are facing the greatest threat to our security since the Second World War, it is time to take concrete and radical steps to be ready to defend ourselves by putting our economy in ‘war mode’,” said Michel, President of the EU Council of Belgium. “We have to hurry,” even the sleepy Gentiloni urges. You only have to look at the surge in European war spending to understand what things are going: €240 billion in 2022, €290 billion in 2023, €350 billion in 2024. Deeds, not words. But the “words,” that is, the increasingly explicit and aggressive war propaganda, are becoming more and more consistent with the facts. Even if European “public opinion” still does not appear ready for direct entry into the war against Russia. You have to prepare it. And nothing would be more welcome than a new Pearl Harbor. But since it is very unlikely that the clever strategist Putin will give him such a gift, we can swear: in the near future there will be an escalation of anti-Russian provocations to provoke some misstep to sell to European public opinion like the new Pearl Harbor…
And here it begins with the forfeiture of interest on Russian assets frozen in Europe that would be entrusted to a “European Peace Fund” (when we say the Orwellian new language), waiting to take the next step: forfeit the same assets. And so the birth of a rapid intervention force is in the pipeline for 2025 – a first exercise has already been held in Cadiz in Spain with 3,000 soldiers, 25 planes and 6 ships, outside the NATO framework, and the second will be held in November in Germany. And here on French TV the ‘experts’ (e.g. Colonel Arbarétier) amiably discuss where it would be best to deploy in Ukraine the contingent of 2,000 soldiers who already appear ready to leave – the French Chief of Staff Pierre Schill assures that “the French army is ready“, and the newspapers translate: even with its nuclear contingent, obviously. The fanatical warmonger Truss, the former British prime minister who lasted 39 days and declared that she was trembling with the desire to press the atomic button to hit Russia, reappears for the occasion, with an incitement to Biden’s United States: “allow Ukraine to use all kinds of weapons and all kinds of tactics.” The Slovenian “thinker” Slavoj Zizek, passed off as a “Freudo-Marxist” (??, a question mark for each of the two attributions, especially for the second) also shouts that “The West must provide Ukraine with nuclear weapons” against “the religious conservative fanatic Putin.” While Poland and Germany conclude an agreement for the establishment of an armored coalition “in support of Ukraine” with an initial contingent of 5,000 men, 2,500 per country, ready to go into action immediately, i.e. in Ukraine. And the list goes on…
Without going into too much detail, here are the conclusions of a text we posted on this same topic two days ago:
“In this text, we have only intended to line up the latest developments in this war, which unequivocally prepare for its enlargement towards Russian territory, the Baltic countries and Romania and Moldova – in perspective towards the whole of European territory and far beyond it, giving that it is not possible, when such dynamics are set in motion, to predict if and where they may stop, if the force of the exploited does not intervene in the field to declare, with deeds, war on the war of capital, opposing the war catastrophe with the prospect of the anti-capitalist social revolution. Living in a founding member country of NATO and the EU, which has shared and shares all the choices of these two structures of brigandage and death, we must focus and relaunch our propaganda and our action against the enemy “at home”: the Meloni government, the Italian state, Italian banks and companies, as well as the alliances within which capitalism made in Italy protects itself.
We have done so far, with our modest strength, in all circumstances, most recently in the great demonstration in Milan on February 24: against the wars of capital, the war economy and its terrible material costs, war propaganda, further discipline in the workplace, the invasion of schools and universities by the new war “educator”, the revival of sexist, racist, chauvinist Russophobic ideologies, inherent in the climate of war, etc. We will do so again in the squares of May 1st, continuing to weave the threads of an international and internationalist network that unites ever more closely the proletarian vanguards of all the countries of the world against the entire system of rotting capitalism.”
