NO to different treatments based on the nationality of workers!
NO to racism, which is always anti-worker!
If FORMALLY this does not happen in ITALY, in SUBSTANCE a racial discrimination is also applied to hundreds of thousands of IMMIGRANT WORKERS hired through subcontracting cooperatives in factories, warehouses etc., paid under different contracts than the mostly Italian direct employees doing the same job!
This discrimination applies to millions of immigrant workers employed in restaurants, in cleaning, in road transport, paid according to fake part-time schedules while working 9, 10, 12 hours a day, often 7 days a week!
Racism is the daily practice of bosses, both big and small, to increase their profits by super-exploiting immigrants, and to divide workers.
SI COBAS gives its full solidarity to the Palestinian workers in struggle at Yamit Filtration, and protests against the Israeli legal system that justifies racism, while it organises workers from all over the world (a large number of them Arabic speakers) together with Italian workers for equal rights, for a decent wage, against racism and employers’ despotism.

Se nella FORMA questo non succede in ITALIA, nella SOSTANZA questa discriminazione razziale viene applicata a centinaia di migliaia di LAVORATORI IMMIGRATI assunti tramite cooperative in subappalto dentro fabbriche, magazzini ecc. pagati con contratti diversi rispetto ai lavoratori perlopi√Ļ italiani dipendenti diretti che fanno lo stesso lavoro!
Questa discriminazione vale per milioni di lavoratori immigrati occupati in ristoranti, nelle pulizie, nell‚Äôautotrasporto, pagati secondo finti orari part-time mentre lavorano 9, 10, 12 ore al giorno, spesso 7 giorni su 7!
Il razzismo √® la pratica giornaliera di padroni grandi e piccoli per aumentare i loro profitti con il supersfruttamento degli immigrati, e per dividere i lavoratori.
Il SI COBAS, mentre esprime tutta la sua solidariet√† ai lavoratori palestinesi in lotta alla Yamit Filtration, e protesta contro il sistema giuridico israeliano che giustifica il razzismo, organizza lavoratori provenienti da tutto il mondo (un gran numero di lingua araba) insieme ai lavoratori italiani per la parit√† di diritti, per un salario decente, contro il razzismo e il dispotismo padronale.

Israeli Employer Won’t Sign Labor Agreement With Palestinian Workers

‚ÄėI know the Land of Israel belongs only to the Jewish people and if the law forces me to, I will stop employing them,‚Äô Yamit Filtration‚Äôs CEO said, before apologizing for remark.
Palestinian employees at the Yamit Filtration & Water Treatment plant in the Nitzanei Shalom industrial zone adjacent to the Palestinian city of Tul Karm launched a general strike on December 31, after the company‚Äôs owner and CEO, Ofer Talmi, refused to accede to their demands for a collective labor agreement.
For its part, the company said it has agreed to salary increases and other benefits through individual employment contracts with the employees in accordance with Jordanian law prevailing in the West Bank. The concessions follow a series of strikes and labor court litigation over the separate employment terms that Israeli and West Bank Palestinian employees have been subject to at the plant.
When asked to explain, Talmi said that as a 10th-generation resident of this land, he is not prepared, despite his respect for the Palestinian employees, to recognize that they are subject to Israeli employment law and if forced to do so, he will stop employing them. As owner of the company, Talmi described himself as ‚Äúsomeone who knows that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people, and I am not prepared for a Palestinian employee to be linked to the State of Israel in any way.‚ÄĚ
In a response for this article, Talmi expressed regret for his earlier remark, ‚Äúwhich does not represent my position or my conduct. I respect the employees and their rights, as I do the important, long-standing economic and national project at Nitzanei Shalom. I hope that common sense prevails and that the employees enter into negotiations as the court has requested.‚ÄĚ
The 75 Palestinian production workers, who live in Tul Karm and its vicinity, organized at the beginning of 2020 through the Maan labor organization. They demanded a collective labor agreement that would put an end of the company‚Äôs practice of providing different employment terms for its Israeli and Palestinian employees.
